What can be more basic than jeans and a tee? True, I’ve given them a little twist with a cropped length jean and a slub-fabric tee, but the foundation is still there. Then I made a fabulous little discovery for this basic look: add a long statement necklace and basic gets dressed up in an instant. This particular necklace from Chico’s is on sale right now, as well as the cropped jeans, which makes the look even more appealing.
If you’re not a fan of platform wedges or crops, try the look with loafers or flat mules and jeans at ankle-length. I’ve added a few to the widget below to give you some ideas, including a light-weight denim ankle jean to see you through the hotter summer months. I have enough jeans in longer lengths right now (did I really type that?) which is why I chose the crops. They looked more like summer to me, and goodness knows it’s summer in Arizona!
I’m still basking in the glow of last weekend’s Fierce 50 Revolution meet up. I featured a couple pictures of our beach photo shoot and the brunch at Chico’s in Santa Monica earlier this week. Next week I’ll have more from the beach shoot (so much fun with those wonderful women), our Launch Party for Cat & Kaehler and their new LA Talk Radio show, and another brunch at the chic shop of French Kande. We had such a fun weekend – I can’t wait for the next get together.
Meanwhile, join the Revolution on Facebook. If you’re 50+, you’ll find plenty of inspiration and style for our demographic. We would love to have you in the conversation!

Yep, Monday was one of those days. I already decided I wouldn’t try to do a post Wednesday since there was a good chance I’d be at the office late Tuesday night. And Wednesday night is our end of tax season party so I wouldn’t try to do something for Thursday. So Monday and Friday. No big deal.
Until Monday morning I went to tried to load the pictures that were a bit stubborn Sunday night. They were downright obstinate Monday morning! Nothing wanted to work right. And dogs. And trying to get to work. And, and ,and. . . and just forget it. Am I the only one with days like that?
Eventually I got it all together. Loaded pictures, got my links set. . . and realized I was actually showing the perfect dress for one of those days. Pull it over your head (by now you know those are my favorites), throw on a statement necklace and some heels and voila! Want a little more coverage? Throw on a print kimono or a neutral blazer. You’ll look so put together and no one has to know what a challenge it was to get out the door. This dress comes in a couple of colors at a great price point to give you lots of possibilities.
We’re almost to April 15, then I’m back to a more normal schedule. I’m definitely looking forward to that. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Spring everyone! It’s officially the first day of Spring, but you’d think it was summer looking at our weather lately. 90+ degrees. Are you kidding me???
The bummer about my long tax-season hours is not the work load – I knew what I was getting into – but the time of the year the workload hits. The months of January – March are gorgeous in the southwest. Crisp, cool mornings give way to wonderfully warm afternoons and breezy, balmy evenings. It’s much too beautiful to waste it all behind a desk! Alas. . .
I found this gorgeous statement necklace and thought it’d be so great with all white. And what better way to cleanse the palate of winter’s dark colors than with something so clean and fresh? A few pops of color helped keep me from feeling like Bride of Mr. Clean. And these Ann Taylor lightweight jeans are so comfortable, they’ll easily see you through summer.
How are celebrating the first day of Spring?
