Golden Girl

With the idea of mixing styles, I wanted to do something completely different with my J.Jill sweater.  Rather than top a silky slip dress with something equally glitzy, the tweedy sweater was a great contrast in texture and pattern.  There is just a hint of golden beige in the sweater’s knit to pair with the gold slip dress.  The weight is perfect to ward off an evening chill and the knit brings golden girl glamour back to earth, so it can be worn somewhere a little less fancy.

My Valentinos pick up different shades of gold as well.  In different lighting they can look dark bronze or pretty bright, but they are actually an antique or “old gold.”  They’re a great muted fall shade and should work well as a neutral in place of basic beige.  At least that’s my theory.  I linked several options for the shoes below in my darker gold; in a lighter gold; with more straps; with no straps; a high heel; a lower heel, and a completely different, more budget-friendly option.  A girl’s gotta have options, right?

How does your week look?  I hope it’s a great one!  Happy Monday.
