One of my favorite fall/winter color combinations is grey and burgundy.  It’s been given it a little twist here using mostly pale greys rather than a deeper hue like charcoal and I like the result.  A monochromatic palette would have been another way to style this dress but I liked the pop of Merlot.

Speaking of  Merlot, how are your Thanksgiving plans shaping up?  I know many people are skipping right past Thursday to Black Friday.  I’m pausing for a moment to reflect on the many things for which I’m thankful: my salvation through Christ; my family, all of whom are healthy and thriving, my own health (sports injuries not withstanding); a new career opportunity; and some very dear friends whose company is always treasured and enjoyed.

Tomorrow we’ll be a very small group but Saturday much more of the family will gather at the home of my sister-in-law.  I always enjoy that time to slow down a bit and visit with everyone.

Before the shopping onslaught begins (is anyone else bothered that it has now encroached upon Thanksgiving?) take a few moments to reflect on those things for which you’re thankful.  I remember the little saying, “Count your blessings one by one, then you’ll see what God has done.”

With a spirit of thankfulness and a heart of gratitude you’ll be ready for the Christmas season with joy and contentment.  I am not knocking shopping by any means.  Shopping can be fun and the deals are abundant,  If I can get my act together I’ll even put together a list of some of my favorites for you to check out.  I’m just saying there can be so much more to this time of year than simply hunting out the best bargains.

This holiday season I wish for you Joy, Love and Hope.  I’m thankful for each pf you and so appreciate that you take the time to stop in and read this little blog.  It means a lot.

Happy Thanksgiving!
