Royal Blue.  Did you ever wonder how it got its name?  Blue pigment was once so rare only royalty could afford it.  Aren’t you glad that’s not the case in today’s world?  Not to play on words, but royal blue is such a deep, rich color your eyes are naturally drawn to it.  It’s another color that flatters all skin and hair colors.  You see royal blue against my blonde hair, but imagine it with rich brown, wavy red or even jet black hair.  From pale freckled skin to deep ebony, royal blue flatters all.  No wonder it was so sought after!

I’ve had my dress for several years, but today is more about the color than the particular dress.  If you love royal blue like I do, I’ve linked several different options for you.  There is a style to suit just about any dress preference.  I could choose some bright, contrasting accessories, which would be fun and striking against the blue but I going for a sophisticated look.  I’ve kept everything else simple: nude shoes, beige envelope clutch, rose gold watch.  What I really needed was a pair of sunglasses.  This idea of ditching sunnies in favor of a more open, approachable me may not fly.  Our bright sun makes it tough to keep my eyes open.  I don’t think there is a single picture where I’m not squinting.  Oh well.

Have a great weekend!!

Helen

    1. Thank you Jodie. A little ruching makes such a difference. It flatters and adds so much visual interest. I’m all for that!
