I love pieces of clothing I can wear several ways.  I showed this trench dress as a coat here with jeans, a tee and booties.  Look how easily it transitions by wrapping it and tying the belt.

I added a straight shift underneath because the V-neck plunged a bit too much for my taste.  I could have done the same with a shirt if I’d had one with a neckline I liked.  A thin-knit top wouldn’t have added the extra fabric that made my not-so-tiny waist appear even thicker, which I’ll keep in mind in the future. Actually, a dress underneath was probably the safer bet in case the wrap belt decided to unwrap.
