It was finally cool enough to wear these OTK boots all day.  I’ve been (not so) patiently waiting for temperatures to drop and today was reward day.  This is one of my favorite days of the year.  A north wind blows pretty hard and temps drop a good 15 degrees at least – a wonderful respite from the triple digits of the past several months.  I can’t tell you how much I look forward to that event!

My dress and boots are on repeat today for a couple of reasons.  First, normal people (I hope I can include myself in that category) wear their clothes more than once.  Second, switching out pumps for boots gives this dress a completely different look.  Add the scarf and the dress is again transformed.

That’s a benefit afforded in cooler weather.  There are probably thousands of scarves, blanket or otherwise, to pair with this dress.  Each one would make a completely different statement.  Each would have a unique accent color to capture as an offset to the blue of the dress.

We can do that to a lesser degree in spring with light-weight scarves, but by summer, who wants an extra layer of clothing?  Not this girl! There’s a bigger challenge then in keeping a single dress looking fresh and unique with each wearing.  I’m not saying it can’t be done, but the task is so much easier in fall and winter, don’t you agree?
