Now that Thanksgiving 2016 is in the books, the holidays and their many parties are officially upon us. More than any other time of year, all that glitters is our party-wear. I figured you can find an abundance of Black Friday posts from many of my blogger colleagues. As a variation, I thought it would be fun today to take a little departure from the sale onslaught and step into royalty mode with gold, silver and sparkles. (Several of these items are on sale, so I’m giving myself points for a sale post. 🙂 ) Rather than choose all-gold dresses, I was really drawn to these black and gold prints. They’re like gilded versions of the LBD, every woman’s go to when we’re not sure what to wear to an event. With the gold foil, these dresses have such a luxe, holiday look. I think they’ll be perfect in so many situations.
You’ll notice one of the dresses above made an encore appearance; the dress is very pretty in both small and plus sizes and I wanted to highlight that fact. You don’t have to be model-thin to carry off a glittery look. Whatever your size, don your shiny party dress and own your look. Get out there and be the life of the party!
If these party dresses are a little too much for you, grab your glitter look through accessories. I’ve chosen a few sparkly clutches and shoes to give you a little glitz because everyone should experience a little glamour this time of year. Whether your party glitter is found in a bag, fancy shoes, a glamorous dress or all of the above (take it easy princess, too much of a good thing isn’t a good thing), let your pieces help you shine.
I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around the time of year. Everything has gone so quickly and we’re really (REALLY!) officially into the Christmas season. We’re putting away the harvest decor and bringing out the Christmas decorations this weekend. It seems surreal, maybe because two weeks ago we were still dealing with temperatures in he 90s, but we’re moving forward regardless. Maybe we’ll feel the Christmas spirit once the tree is trimmed.
How are you preparing for the Christmas season? What are your favorite holiday party looks? I’d love to hear about them!
Thanks for reading!
