I usually mix and match solids. I don’t wear a lot of patterns. I’m not sure why, except that solids tend to work better in wardrobe rotation, so I tend to gravitate toward them when I look at clothes. So naturally when I decide to go for pattern I go all in with mixed prints? Keep ’em guessing, I guess. 🙂
Mixing prints works well when you keep within the same family of colors. When you’re only working with two, and those two are oh-so-basic black and white, you’ll rarely go wrong. Need a little more interest? How about the pop of red I added with the pumps? The look works either way, as I’ve shown here.
My sister-in-law, Laura, told me about these great Pixie pants from Old Navy. “You have to get a pair, they’re so comfortable!” She was right. So right, in fact, I bought three pair! I love the fit and the feel, and the ankle length is definitely on point. They’re cute and dressed up with heels, but they also look great with flats and sandals. Sounds like the perfect spring-to-summer pant to me!
So happy to have you stop by!
Love this look—and I’m partial to the red heels with it!! jodie

Thanks Jodie! It’s always fun to add that unexpected pop of color!
[…] Taylor (on sale!), but this sweater will pair with all sorts of things. I used it to mix prints here. Hilarious, but I wore so many of the same things in that previous post. So much for creativity […]
