The ubiquitous utility jacket, aka cargo jacket, is another one of those closet staples.  It’s lightweight, has pockets galore and, depending on the style, can be cinched at the waist for a less bulky look while boasting a removable hood to save your hair from a surprise light rain.  It really lives up to it’s name!  And when I say, “closet staple” I’m not kidding.  I’ve had this one for a few years and it’s in the weekend mix often.

I see the utility jacket a lot with skinny jeans and a striped tee – a weekend uniform of sorts.  Why not dress it up a bit?  I did so with a lace top and coordinating bag, then played around with silver mules vs. nude pumps and some fun mirrored sunglasses.  It’s still a good weekend-casual look (sans heels), but with a lace twist.

I know it’s only Thursday, but I’m already feeling weekend-ready.  How about you?
