If I have a weekend uniform in the fall, this is it: jeans, a tee, a hat and booties.  If it gets a little chilly, throw on a leather moto jacket or a utility jacket and you’re set.  Booties and a hat are a quick way to take jeans and a tee from potentially sloppy to casually chic.  Who’s not for that?

Do you have any fun weekend plans?  We’re working on furniture for our courtyard.  I think I repeat those plans constantly but the weather is cooperating so I think it’s happening.  When you design and build it yourself and you want to make sure it can hold some of your larger friends and neighbors, both phases can take a long time.  Especially if the main designer/builder is my husband. He does an amazing job but it is not a speedy process.  In fact, “slow” might be too quick a description.  “Snail’s pace” probably covers it.

I was all for buying everything, but at least one area requires custom work.  In Andy’s mind, if you’re going to design one piece, why not the entire thing.  Sigh.  Eventually I’ll be able to show it all, but for now it’s in the construction stage while I’m in the impatient-bordering-on-frustration stage.  Breathe, Helen.  Just breathe.  🙂

So while our project requires multiple trips to Lowe’s, at least I can look chic on the outing!  Do you have a favorite weekend uniform?  I’d love to hear about it!
