Remember when exaggerated shoulder pads were everywhere? I mean, we thought the Norma Kamali shoulder pads were it! Who was the comedian who talked about layering clothing and inadvertantly creating “shoulder pad build-up?” So hilarious and yet so true! There are times when too much of a good thing is not a good thing.
With that in mind, I wasn’t sure if adding flares on top of flares would work but I think it did. Let’s talk about why. The monochromatic theme makes the look long and lean while keeping the focus on the flares. The same top in a print would probably look too much like a parody of the psychedelic era and not at all what I had in mind. (Ironically, Led Zeppelin is playing in the back ground as I type this.)
By limiting the look to one darker hue and adding white accessories above the neck, you don’t have to be a six-foot glamazon to carry this off. Keeping the inseam long and wearing wedges does help, however! What do you think about flares on top of flares? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for reading!

I think this looks fabulous Helen!! Maybe it’s the fact that it’s different from what we’ve been wearing, and change is a good thing??
