Who says you can’t wear a sundress in your fifties? Clearly not me! I’ve found dresses, especially sundresses, are so much more comfortable on a hot summer’s day. When it’s hot and/or humid, comfort really does rule the day. True, I wouldn’t stand in the sun for very long while wearing black. However, I fell in love with this pretty and dramatic black floral print and decided I didn’t care. It’s not the usual backdrop for florals which adds to the appeal.
This little dress is currently on sale for $20 at Old Navy. At that price you can pick it up in several cute summer prints. We know summer heat and a lady’s propensity to “glow” (read “perspire”) throughout the season can really take a toll on clothing. I would hate to ruin a really pricey item, and in the past I have. With a dress at this price point, I’m more disappointed if I have to let it go because it’s pretty. I’m not crushed because I spent a small fortune. Frugality, thy name is Helen. 🙂
How are you dressing to beat the heat?
