It’s ironic; we named this blog Haute Business, but I probably show more casual looks than office attire. Since life shouldn’t be all work and no play, it makes sense to show both, and casual looks offer so many opportunities to be adventurous.  🙂  When it comes to looks for the office, you know how much I love pullover dresses for their ease and convenience but separates are a great choice for extending your wardrobe.  One black skirt can offer myriad options for your wardrobe.  I showed this skirt here, and I’m stretching my wardrobe with a windowpane check blouse today.  I’m sure I’ll repeat the skirt often because the styling choices are nearly limitless.

I’m apt to spend more on classic pieces, or those I know I’ll wear often, and opt for bargains on trendy items.  It just makes sense.  You want quality when it’s a piece you’ll where a lot so it holds its color and shape.  That said, this skirt is actually a great buy at $60.  I desperately needed a new one: I wear black skirts so often in winter I do eventually wear them out.  What pieces in your closet get the most wear?
