It felt like it was time to break out of a color rut. Not a rut so much, but I’ve been combining different colors to give things a new, fresh look. For example, I love this J.Jill flounced shirt, which was last seen here. In both cases I wore it as a jacket. I just realized I have yet to wear it in it’s original role, a shirt. Note to self. . .
Speaking of giving things a new look, I’m ready to change things up a bit. And not just things, but me! We can all use a little freshening up once in a while.
Based on all that, I’m trying a few new things, making some changes. After Andy’s health scare, the Mediterranean Diet is now a part of our lives. I’m a pretty healthy eater, but I have a lot of room for improvement. True confessions: I’m a closet sugar eater, and even at my best I fight the urge to binge on sweets. Andy’s been far better at cutting the sugar. But then, his life may literally depend on it. The more I read about it though, the more I realize mine does, too. Fabulous, delicious sugar is so incredibly bad for the body. Damn.
With all of this in mind, I think it’s time to change up Haute Business a bit. I’ll still feature fashion and beauty posts, because I love them, and I’ll do occasional finance posts because they’re important (although a bit too much like my day job), but I want to peel back the layers a bit and unveil more lifestyle, including the struggles. We all have challenges. I don’t know anyone that truly lives the charmed life and I certainly don’t want to give the impression I do. I’m ready to get real, and I hope we can use this space to share ideas and advice. I’m excited!
